Great Northern Beans
Great Northern Beans
Ingredients:
2 packs of real bacon bits in a bag
1 tablespoon vegetable oil
1/3 cup minced onion
1 garlic cloves, minced
1 pound bag of dried white beans, (great northern)
2 cups water (continue to add as beans soak up water)
1 tablespoon dried thyme
1 teaspoon celery seeds
1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
Preparation:
Place sorted and washed beans in the crock pot and cover with water, add onion, garlic, bacon bits, oil and remaining spices. Cover and cook on high 6-8 hours or until beans are tender.
