Visual Interest...

Everybody has a passion for something. One of mine is decorating and it has been a blessing to be able to, no matter where I live, create visual interest in my home.  Your living space is a personal reflection of what you like to see, size doesn't have to be a hindrance in creating that perfect zone. For the past thirteen years I have managed many blogs. The subject of a few of them are centered around decorating, saving, smart shopping and maximizing the space that you live in. I am also followers of other blogs such as mine and I have read a lot of suggestions and opinions of others. My take has always been do as you please in your own home, have your own style and be unapologetic for how you desire to design the space you dwell in. Some will say less is more, some strive for complete symmetry and some have more of an eclectic style.

Let me again say this as if you don't already know from reading my blog and viewing my pictures, I am a pure country girl. Yes, a country girl who lives in the city and loves visual interest. When you step into my home your eyes and your spirit will indeed get a show. The Eyes are the window to the soul. We eat with them. We shop with them. We choose with them and we create things around us that pleases our eyes. If it doesn't look the way we want we either choose something else or start all over again until we master what it is that we are looking for.

I have said this before, "You don't have to go broke to decorate your home". I have always decorated on a budget. Thrift stores, half off sales, clearance aisles and flea markets are gold mines. People have often found things along the side of the road that others have discarded as trash and turned them into treasures. Don't be afraid to buy second hand furniture if the bones of the item is good a little cleaning, sanding and chalk paint can bring it back to life.

Now, getting back to the subject of visual interest. It is not for those who like less is more nor will they understand you decorating in a way that requires more than they think is necessary to make visual impact. There is nothing wrong with less is more mind you but I always say to each his own. We all have different style taste. I love sectioning each room in my home into multiple vignettes using the four corners of each room. When you enter my home wherever your eye is drawn it will definitely hold your interest for a minute checking out everything in each corner. It will give you a feel almost like when are house hunting. Many house flippers hire staggers to give their home for sale visual interest so that the buyer can get a feel of what the home will look like lived in. Buyers often ask if the furnishings are included in the sale price because how it is already decorated is pleasing to their eye.

All in all there is no right and wrong way to decorate your personal space. You will in time design it aesthetically pleasing for you and or your family to enjoy. Your home is your haven, design it how it makes you happy.

Summer is about to leave Us in 25 days!

It has been a Marvelous Summer. I love the Summer but truth be told I love Fall MORE! I have been a busy bee all the while Enjoy life and time with my Family whom I love dearly. I love enjoying my home and decorating it from Season to Season. Decorating has always been my joy. I am not a hard girl to please. I have always been a homebody and a happy homemaker. Through the good times and the bad times creating and decorating has always made me smile and even filed voids in my life over the years. Nothing like doing something you love. I am a blessed Woman. God's Grace has brought me through much and continues to carry me day by day. I couldn't not live without God's Grace and Mercy and let us not forget his provision.

Summer 2019 I turned lemons into lemonade so to speak. I loved the fresh look the lemon theme gave my home. I must say I went a little lemon crazy unexpectedly. I started with the table setting then it took off from me making pillows to finding whatever I could with a lemon motif on it. I was fun as well as refreshing to enjoy the months of May-July.
