Thanksgiving 2018

As I sit here still emotionally glowing in the aftermath of Thanksgiving this Sunday I am filled with joy, gratitude and Thanksgiving leftovers. I was so happy that all my children, my grandson, my mom and those who love me were in attendance. Everybody seemed so content and happy among all the holiday decorations, fine food and each other. My mom was even taking pictures. Words cant express the Joy I feel. Life is going on and God is truly blessing me. I am just so so so grateful to God our Father for all that I have and all that he is allowing me to be a part of. We all will have ups and downs in life but we have to get over the hump and continue on and not let unfortunate circumstances weigh us down or keep us from continuing to experience the joys in life. I have always loved the holidays. I enjoy all the Christmas movies and cartoons. I love decorating, early mind you, and enjoying the glow and animation within my home from sun up to sun down. I never get tired of it. It's the most wonderful time of the year. I am so looking forward to going with my Son this week to pick out our live Christmas tree. This will be our second year going together in keeping with the tradition of my late father and I going to get the Christmas tree for the home in which I grew up in. That was a special time for me and I thank God for the memories of us searching for one together. There have been many days when I wondered how a way would be made to do many things and God made the way, I stand in awe and amazement of all he does not that he couldn't do it but because he did it and for me. Who am I that he would have to do anything for me, no one but he does it because he loves me. If only we finite beings could learn to love one another as God loves us. Yes, we love but we will never be able to love like the Almighty loves so take nothing for granted and be grateful for everything. Don't let the last Thursday of the month of November be the only day of Thanksgiving because everyday is a day of Thanksgiving and should be referenced as just that. I hope everyone had a beautiful holiday weekend because I know Thursday didn't just end the celebrations around the world. In most homes today is the closure of it all for Thanksgiving 2018 and many will be headed back home to get themselves ready for a new work week tomorrow, Monday the 26th of November. It's almost incomprehensible when you think about Christmas day being one month away from today but believe it and have a Merry rest of your holiday season and God Bless you and your family.

Thanksgiving is a Memory...time passes too quickly sometimes

As we come to the close of another month we leave behind the initial excitement of the Holiday Season arriving. Thanksgiving preparations, food shopping and all the cooking has been completed and the leftovers finished, next holiday: Christmas. As all the years prior Thanksgiving was a time of family gathering and joy. I thank God for another United day of Thanks with those I love. I am grateful as I am everyday for so much. It was a joy to turn my home into a Holiday Winter Wonderland a few weeks before Thanksgiving and be able to enjoy all the lights everyday while watching all the Hallmark Christmas movies counting the days til we would all gather. I love Christmas and I love decorating and making things pretty but that's not all of what I am about. I like showing and sharing love and making people happy. I love family and family gatherings and just enjoying life each day God allows me to. Had someone asked me what I am grateful for I would say: Life, Love and family. I am grateful for all those who love and care about me. I am grateful for friends who love me just the way I am. I hope everyone has a safe, healthy and happy Holiday Season. Love one another and cherish every moment. Make lasting memories that you can look back on and smile about. Life is short and there are no do overs once the book of your life is closed. Thank God for what is and what is not and don't take anything for granted especially this life that God has given you. Use your time wisely and be the change you want to see in your family, your circle of friends and in the world. Just remember to be grateful no matter what. Don't worry about what others may have verses what you have just be grateful for what God is allowing you to have because whether you know it or not you are blessed! I hope the world is still standing this time next year in peace and well are all happy healthy and safe and I can make another blog entry about Thanksgiving 2018.
