Farmhouse, Farmhouse, Farmhouse

Yes, I am country living grandma and those of you who have been taking this Journey with me since 2009 know I love country design so when I began changing my home over to farmhouse design I didn't have to far to reach. When I first moved into my new home 2 years and 4 months ago I had to leave a lot behind including all the hard work I put into my previous house for 25 years. It wasn't easy to part with what had been my life for a quarter of a century. I moved into my home with 2 children, had another one withing the 25 years I lived there. There were Christmases, Thanksgivings, Easters, Birthdays, all three of my Children's Proms and Graduations spent in that home. I put so much into it and although I don't regret all I did because its a part of my Life's Journey. You have to take the good with the bad and continue to Live! God had other plans for me.

Now I am happy and healthy 4 years into a new Chapter of my life and loving it. A house is just what it is, bricks and mortar. By God's Grace you can find another house or home. A Home is what you make whether its in a House, Apartment or a One room rental. I lost my Dad in 2003 and that is something that is not replaceable, human life. I dare not fret to long about a thing or things.

In August I had grew tired of seeing the lemons and was contemplating a new look. Truthfully while on vacation in July. I found something that was really my inspiration for my new choice of decorating. Farmhouse decor has taken over my home and I must say I love it. It wasn't too hard to master being as though I have already been decorating country for the past 25 years. I cant shake my love for country style and don't want to shake it. Its soothing, comfortable, relaxing and warm and inviting. I have spent the last month rearranging, search, painting and creating the perfect farmhouse look for me. Who would have thought that a (Welcome to the Porch) sign would be the beginning of Farmhouse 101 for me. LOL

Although the sign is not being displayed on my porch but in my dinning is satisfaction enough for me. I love the charm of it and I cant see it on my porch inside my home. See, that is one thing about me I live to keep things that warm my heart in plain view hence the reason I moved my Stepback cabinet from my Dining room to my living room. It is one of my favorite Amish pieces that has traveled with me. It was one thing I knew I was not going to leave behind. Once I brought my cabinet into view my inspiration to do a complete do over grew by the minute so on the hunt I went. For decades I have found 95% of my treasure in thrift stores and at yard sales and flea markets. Another persons trash can easily be your treasure. You have to have vision and that is what I use in making my every purchase. I think outside of the box as far as re-purposing what I buy. Since I have been collecting over the past 3 decades the first place I start shopping is in my storage containers. Oh the treasures I found that were already in my possession. Chalk paint and a glue gun became my new friends. It has taken me about a month to master the look I was searching for and I have run out of space. LOL My creating has not gotten word that their is no more space availability.

Now on to the second floor.
