Tv has changed--I miss Retro Television

Tv shows have gotten outrageous. There is very, very, little censorship on there anymore. At 12 noon one day I passed a basic cable channel and there was a movie on, a man dancing naked on stage with just the scrambled boxes covering his privates, the ladies were making comments about the size of his private area and they even said the word "p" word several times. Man what happened to putting stuff of this nature on in late hours, because we can just forget about it going away. I just wish that I wouldn't have to be concerned about what my kids might stumble upon during primetime hours. Although we as parents can try and monitor what they watch sometimes kids do flip channels like adults do and I would hate for mine to stumble upon this filth. And then people wonder why there is a high rate of parenthood amongst teens. Hmmm I wonder why, could they be being influenced? I wish more of us would start insisting that tv writing changes or petitioning to enforce more censorship during prime time hours. I heard that producers supply what is demanded and deliver what the people want to see. I know I am not alone in want to see more scripts with decent tv viewing period not matter what time of the day, and don't get me started on this animated type tv shows the are so over the top and sooooo not for kids whatsoever. I would like to have a better choice of what to watch instead of all these free for all shows with anything goes, any time, and any place. Greed pushes some people to promote what the majority of the people want to see. I just wish more wanted to view things of a more decent nature than it wouldn't be such a high demand for trash tv.

I miss the days of the WALTONS, which was one of my favorite shows back in the day, I also liked Bob Newhart, Mary Tyler Moore, the Odd Couple, Cosby, That Girl, Rhoda, Carol Burnett Show, etc. Tv has truly changed but not so much for the better anymore.

I miss when the Waltons use to come on the Hallmark Channel every morning but I am glad I have the DVD's to watch as much as I want to. I just loved the set that the series took pace on, it was so cozy looking. I just really miss tv shows like this, another one of my favorites that still comes on the Hallmark Channel is Little House on the Prairie.

The only channel that I never seem to have to worry about anything to deep coming on it is GMC (the gospel music channel) and I love their movies and specials. I watched Left Behind 1 and 2 on their this past Sunday. I also like that they show Promised Land and Dr. Quinn Medicine Man.
