Holiday Craft Fair Tips

Many of you have been crafting for sometime now in preparation for holiday bazaars and craft fairs. Craft fairs can be but sometimes they can be disappointing. Nothing like a lot of hard work and preparation and sales don't turn out like you would have liked them too. Location is important as well as demand at the time of your sales but most importantly you have to do all that you can to make people interested and want to buy your products where you are. I am inspired by a question asked of me at my Christmas Group. Here are some tips I hope will help you a little in your efforts to be a success at selling your products this Holiday season.

Make your table or booth inviting. Be organized. You not only make more sales with your presentation also be outspoken and confident about what you are selling.

Talk to people and tell them why you think what you are selling will make a good gift for them to give to someone.

Keep a lot singles on hand some times people come with big bills and get deterred from buying if they have to find a way to make change to buy something from your table.

Position and grouping is important. If you have multiple choice colors or styles of the same item keep them together vs scattered all over your tables so people can see that they have a choice of any of the same item. It just makes for better visual organization.

Have a lot of bags and wrap on hand so you can pack up for your customers what they are purchasing.

Never be in a position where you are scrambling for change or don't have the proper packing materials for them to take away their purchases securely, remember other potential buyers are watching and you want them to view you as knowing what you are doing and that you have it all together. This will give them a sense of security in possibly buying something next as well.

If you plan on selling online besides just during craft fairs, have you some business cards made with your website address on it along with your contact information. Have a pretty wicker basket on one of your tables with them in it so even if people don't buy your product they can take a card. Who knows they may later be encouraged to visit your website and see what you have, this could get you some sales in the future. Nothing like passing on the word about someone when you are pleased with what you bought from them. Free sample baskets are attractive too, they sometimes draw people over to look at your table or make them stay longer and browse. Always be kind, patient, with your potential buyers even if they don't buy anything. A lot of times people survey the whole fair and make choices later whose table to revisit. Remember you can catch more flies with honey rather than vinegar, keep an inviting smile or your face even if your a little frustrated or tired. I hope I have provided you with a little to go on in preparation for your event.

God Bless, Countrylivinggrandma!
