It's not hard to stumble upon great country treasures to transform your home into that country paradise you dream of. Most of the time these treasures are closer than you think. Visit your local thrift stores, yard sales, and the clearance section of a select few of your nearest shopping plazas. One of my favorites is Ross. I am always on the prowl for good country finds. I keep my eyes open while I travel on the bus for signs telling me when their are yard sales in my neighborhood or church flea markets which I on occasion sell my gift baskets at as well. I also browse different country magazines for ideas and purchases, such as the Country House and Terry's Village. I have even found some great finds on QVC while watching my favorite decorator Valerie Parr Hill.
I find keeping the walls a light neutral color makes for a good backdrop to display your country finds. Keep things of the same sort in groupings like signs, baskets, bears, or whatever you have been collecting over the years. Pine furniture is a must. I love looking for items with the hearts cut out of them a definite country signature. Lace curtains add country charm and so do plants and dried floral arrangements.
In the past Home and Garden TV helped me a lot in viewing such shows as Country at Home and Country Style which no longer are shown. I miss both those shows. Keep viewing my blog and I will show you how to make your home the country castle it can be, lol. Enjoy your day and God Bless!
